How to get the best internet service in Canada
More than two-thirds of Canadians have access to a wired or wireless internet service at least once a month, according to a new report from Rogers Communications Canada.
But many of us don’t have access in the same way as Canadians in other countries, such as the United States and Australia, said Rogers Communications CEO Rob Morris.
“In Canada, it’s a bit of a double-edged sword,” he said in an interview.
Morris said the data shows Canadians don’t need to worry about paying for their internet service.
Instead, the Rogers Communications chief executive said, Canadians should look at alternatives.
In fact, Morris said Canadians should use Rogers Internet services instead of paying extra for the same kind of service offered by Bell and Telus.
Rogers is currently the only Canadian telecommunications company offering internet access.
But in the United Kingdom, a company called Openreach launched its own version of the Rogers internet service last year.
The Openreach service offered internet access for free, but Rogers Communications said the company has since raised prices and introduced new restrictions to ensure customers are paying their fair share of the cost.
Morris noted the Rogers version of Openreach does not offer unlimited internet access, but he said customers are free to switch to a Rogers alternative if they want.
Rogers Internet customers can still use the internet if they don’t want to use Rogers’s own service.
And if you have an existing Rogers Internet service and would like to switch over, you’ll still be able to use the Rogers service.
“The reason why we’re providing the Rogers Internet is to provide our customers with a high-speed alternative to pay for their basic internet service,” Morris said.
The Rogers internet services are similar to what Canadians can get for free on their cell phones.
But unlike cellular phones, Rogers Internet has a high data usage cap.
The cap is set at 20 gigabytes per month, or roughly 20,000 megabytes a year.
Rogers said that if a customer wants to pay more for the Rogers services, they’ll be charged extra for each additional gigabyte they use.
Morris also said the Rogers versions of internet services do not have the same restrictions on data usage.
“We can offer them on a per-user basis, per-device basis,” Morris told CBC News.
Rogers says it has introduced new data caps in Canada in recent years, but it’s unclear how many Rogers customers have been impacted by these restrictions.
Morris stressed the internet is just one of the ways Canadians can use Rogers’ service.
In addition to providing internet, Rogers also offers a number of other services, such video streaming and voice calls.
Rogers also sells video streaming services, including the Rogers Streaming TV app, which allows users to stream movies and TV shows to their smartphones, laptops and tablets.
Morris added that Rogers has a variety of other apps available for use on its internet services, which include Rogers Play, which provides video game and game-streaming services.
Rogers Play can be downloaded on Android phones and tablets and is compatible with iPhones and iPads.
Morris says Rogers also has a video chat app that allows users connect with other people using a video call, called Rogers Live Chat.
“People can also chat on a wide range of devices, including smartphones, tablets, PCs, TV sets and other smart devices,” Morris added.
In Canada, Rogers offers a range of Internet service options that include the Rogers streaming TV app and Rogers Play.
But Rogers is also offering a number on-demand internet services.
For example, Rogers has also announced it will start offering its own on-premises TV service in 2018, and it will launch a new service in 2019 that will offer on-site internet access in some locations.
