Napoli vs Lazio: Serie A ‘Ajax, not Napoli’

Napoli have lost 3-1 at home to Lazio, who were already on the brink of relegation after the loss to Juventus last weekend.

Lazio were also 2-0 up at the break.

Lazios striker Federico Bolaños hit the post with 10 minutes to go after a pass from striker Dario Nocerino was intercepted by goalkeeper David Ospina.

Napoli had a penalty appeal waved away by referee Gianluca Vialli after a long kick from Stefano Sturaro.

The result means the Rossoneri remain at the bottom of Serie A and face an uncertain future with Lazio playing their home games at the same ground.

Napolo’s only win over Lazio came in February 2013.

The home side’s last victory over Lazios came in October 2014.

Lazio coach Mauro Icardi had to cancel a pre-match meeting with his players after a player from his squad was shown a red card for a second yellow card against the Nerazzurri in a friendly last year.

Icardo’s side are just one point clear of fourth-placed Roma, who host Inter on Saturday.
